DAY 1
Dakar – Saint-Louis
Depart from Dakar in the morning. On the way to St-Louis visit the tapestry factory in Thies. Arrive in Saint-Louis for lunch. After lunch take a tour of this former colonial capital of Senegal, including Faidherbe Square. Saint Louis still has the appearance of an old provincial town – circa 1800’s. Explore the narrow streets flanked by houses with carved wooden balconies and verandas.
This evening take a horse drawn carriage and visit the fishing village of Guet Ndar.

DAY 2
Saint-Louis – Dakar
This morning visit the Djoudj National Bird Park, which is considered one of the most important bird sanctuaries in the world. Situated on a major palearctic migratory route, this park is a paradise for bird enthusiasts. Some of the world’s greatest concentrations of white pelicans and flamingos can be seen here, more than 10, 000 of each species.
Late afternoon return to Dakar. En route visit the Holy city of Touba including the grand mosque and the vast library with thousands of books including those written by the mystic founder and the legend of one of Senegal’s most important historical cities, Cheikh Ahmadou Mbacke. You will learn about the history and legend of Touba. Continue to Dakar.
